Spinal decompression gently stretches the spine on a specialized table to relieve pressure on the discs and the nerves around them. By easing that pressure, it helps draw bulging or herniated disc material back and improves the flow of nutrients that discs need to heal. It is a non-surgical option for disc-related back and neck pain, sciatica, and pinched nerves. Most patients find the sessions comfortable and even relaxing. Dr. Powers uses decompression as part of a complete plan so relief holds instead of coming back.

We offer two kinds of decompression. On our computerized decompression table, pictured above, you lie comfortably while the table applies a gentle, controlled stretch to the spine. We also offer Back on Trac, a chair-style system that decompresses the low back while you recline. Your provider will recommend the option that best fits your body and your condition.
